AUGUST
8/16         Orientation (Preschool/K5/Elem/MiddleSchool) 6:00 p.m.
8/17         First day of school 8:30 a.m. (All classes/*Half Day/No ASC/No Early Arrival)
8/20         ASC and Early Arrival begin (7:45 a.m.).  
8/24         Have you seen the Gingerbread Man? Let’s explore our school and discover the different places the Gingerbread Man might hide. (Students will tour the facility.)
8/27-31     Getting to Know You Week!  On Monday, bring a paper bag with a photo of your family and three items that reveal something special about you. You will have a time to share with your class this week as we get to know each other better.

 

SEPTEMBER
9/3          Labor Day Holiday
9/7          Sea Life - we will explore our ocean friends.
9/7          Bring your smile! It's School Picture Day.
9/14        When I Grow Up Day. Dress like what you want to be when you grow up.
9/21        Zoo Day - Bring a small toy zoo animal to share with your friends. Watch out! Lions, tigers and bears will roam the halls!
9/24-28   Drop a note in our EED-MZCS mailbox in the EED foyer this week and it will be delivered to your child on Friday. (No packages, please!)  Also, send two self addressed stamped envelopes for your child to send a grandparent or friend letters from school as we learn about the US Postal Service.
9/28        Mail Day! All mail collected this week will be delivered today. (Half Day Schedule/No After School Care today)

 

OCTOBER
10/5  *** Fall Reading Campout. We will cozy up and read all day!
                   (Please send $2.00 to help cover the expenses for the day.)
10/12      The Fire Trucks are Coming! It’s Fire Safety Day.
10/17      Picture Remake Day (Only those requiring retakes) Order forms may be obtained in the EED office.
10/19      Pet Day! Bring a picture of your pet for a cutest pet contest (Be sure to label pictures with your child’s name.)
10/26 ***Pumpkin Day! - Dress like a farmer. We'll pick pumpkins from the MZCS pumpkin patch. (There will be a $2.50 fee to help with expenses.)
10/31      Half Day/No After School Care

12/7        Reptile Day- Bring a toy reptile to school to share with your friends.
12/14      Slipper’s and Teddy Bear Day. We’ll cuddle up and watch a movie. (Please bring a change of shoes for recess if necessary.)
12/17      Preschool Christmas Program 11:00
12/18      K-5 Christmas Program 11:00

1/25 *** Fun with Food Day! We’ll be cooking and eating all day! YUM! (Please send $2.50 to help cover the groceries for the day.)

 

FEBRUARY
2/1         Registration open to the public for the 2008-2009 school year.
2/1         Crazy Hat Day! Wear your crazy hat to school.
2/8         Safari Day! Wear your khakis. We’re going on a safari!
2/14***  Valentine's Day Parties - Wear red and bring valentines to exchange.
2/15       Half Day/No ASC
2/18       Presidents Day Holiday. No School/No Childcare.
2/22 *** Circus Day!  We’ll all dress up and perform for our friends as the MZCS circus comes to town! (Please send $1.50 to help cover expenses for the day.)
2/29       Western Day - Dress like a cowboy.

 

 

MARCH
3/7 ***  Bike Day! (Helmets Required) Please leave bikes in the area designated for your child’s class (in the upper church parking lot) during morning drop off.  Pick up the bike in the same area when you pick up your child.

4/18      Baseball Opening Day!  Dress like a baseball player.

4/24 ***K-5 Field Day! Wear shorts and running shoes.
(There will be a $9.00 fee to cover the day's expenses.)
4/25 ***Celebrate Spring! Bring a potted flower to plant in the MZCS garden area designated for your child’s class.

MAY
5/2        Dental Awareness Day! Smile and let those pearly whites show!
5/9        Watermelon Day!
5/15      K-5 will tour the South Campus.
5/16 ***Memory Lane Day. Bring a picture of your child to give to each of his classmates to place in their memory books. Be sure to write your child’s name on the front right corner with a fine tipped Sharpie marker.
(Please send $1.00 to help cover the cost of this project.)
5/19      K-5 Graduation in the main auditorium 7:00 p.m.
(Students should arrive no later than 6:30 p.m.)
5/21      Beach Day! Wear shorts and flip flops.
5/21      Final Day of School. (Half Day/No ASC)
